By I hit an all-time low. My weight was fluctuating, I had zero sex drive, and I became horribly moody. Although my eating patterns didn’t change I started to gain weight. My bad acne escalated more than ever. Massive, painful pimples – like cysts protruding from under my skin – covered my chin and jawline, then spread all over my face and body. Some days, I was so lethargic I didn’t even want to get out of bed.
I didn’t understand what was happening to me – I just didn’t recognise myself anymore, both inside and out. I was desperate for help. But when going over the non physical symptoms of pcos I think the condition had more to do with it.
I believe I’ve had the onset of depression for most of my twenties, which have manifested in unenthusiasm or apathy and lack of motivation. I have deep acne scars on my cheeks when my hormonal acne went haywire at 22, I’m at 5’11, I grow so much excess hair all over my body including neck and under chin. I’m so self conscious to the point where I wait til it gets dark outside to walk around the block for exercise instead of in broad daylight.
